Montane Featherlite Marathon Jacket
Weighing just 140g, this jacket, which packs into a tiny mesh stuffsack (supplied), could easily go un-noticed if left in you pack; however, this would be a waste, this jacket needs to be worn, pound (£) for pound (£) and gram (g) for gram (g), this lightweight windtop from Montane is superb.
It features a full-length front zip (providing excellent ventilation), vents (even more ventilation but carefully positioned to avoid drafts), a high collar (to prevent drafts) and reflective piping (so you can be seen in the dark).
I rarely run during the autumn, winter or spring without, at some point, wearing it and would always carry it during the summer. It works perfectly over the Montane Bionic Long Sleeve Zip Neck Base Layer during the colder times and in warmer, but breezy conditions, over a Montane Bionic T-shirt or a Montane Terra Short-sleeved T-shirt.
It might be light and compact, but despite masses of use is showing no signed of wear; careful following of washing instructions is important as this will help maintain and enhance the water repellency of the pertex fabric.
